Pre-Pharmacy

You desire to obtain a professional pharmacy degree and we can help.

Although you do not have to major in any particular field, most students major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB), Biology or Chemistry. These degrees already have many of the required courses embedded into the curriculum.

Top Reasons

LECOM Agreement

In partnership with one of the nation’s most renowned medical colleges, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), qualified students are granted priority admission into Lake Erie’s dental program.

Comprehensive

We provide the academic courses that pharmacy schools require for admissions, and these classes will help you become successful on the PCAT.

Individualized Attention

Our Pre-Professional programs will help to guide you in your quest to become a pharmacist. You will be paired with an advisor who knows what it takes to achieve your goals.

Original Research

At ³Ô¹ÏÍø, all Chemistry majors are required to do independent research. The diverse projects give you various choices and opportunities.

Pre-Pharmacy Internships

Our extracurricular experiences will help broaden your knowledge and understanding of the world around you. Junior Journeys, internships, shadowing and research.

Students applying to pharmacy programs generally engage in internship, shadowing, or volunteer work. Many schools will ask for recommendations from pharmacists and/or request that the student have experience shadowing a pharmacist. As a result, our students often volunteer with local hospitals or clinics or work in places such as CVS, Publix and Walgreens, among others. Some students choose to conduct internships at chemical industries to gain analytical and extraction methods, which are relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.

Clubs And More

There are several relevant organizations on campus to be involved in, such as Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society. Student affiliations of national organizations are also available, such as American Chemical Society and other Pre-Professional Societies.
