Evelyn Marie Clark Badcock Memorial Garden
2007
In 2007, the Badcock Memorial Garden outside of the Ordway Building was dedicated by Trustee Maida Badcock Pou in honor of her mother Evelyn Marie Clark Badcock. The garden includes boxwood, white impatiens, and flowering red pentas plants and acts as an "outdoor living room" for students.
Named in honor of Evelyn Marie Clark Badcock, mother of Թ Trustee Maida Badcock Pou. Evelyn Badcock was born in 1905 and lived in Mulberry, Florida. She was a member of the first class to attend Florida Southern when the college was moved to Lakeland from Clearwater Beach, and graduated in 1925. She passed away in 2007, and her daughter dedicated the garden in her honor. Pou noted that her mother “always kept a beautiful yard,” during the dedication ceremony.
