How FSC Shaped Three Olympic Dreams

Aug 14, 2024

When you picture yourself at college, you might imagine late-night study sessions, exciting internships, and making lifelong friends. But what if your college experience could lead you to the global stage of the Paris Olympic Games? For three ³Ô¹ÏÍø alumni, their time at FSC did just that.

Dylan Travis ’16, Ludovico Viberti ’22, and Kyle Micallef ’23 all had one thing in common: they chose ³Ô¹ÏÍø. And that decision became the foundation for their journey to the Paris Olympics.

Dylan Travis: USA 3x3 Basketball
Dylan Travis’ basketball journey reached new heights at ³Ô¹ÏÍø, where he was part of the 2015 NCAA National Championship basketball team. FSC’s competitive environment and strong basketball program provided him with the experience and confidence to pursue his passion beyond college, eventually leading him to represent the United States in Men’s 3x3 basketball at the Paris Olympics. The skills and discipline Dylan developed at FSC played a key role in shaping his athletic career.

Ludovico Viberti: Italy Swimming
For Ludovico, the decision to attend ³Ô¹ÏÍø was pivotal. FSC’s strong swimming program, combined with a supportive community, offered him an environment to excel both in the classroom and in the pool. In 2022, Ludovico became the NCAA National Champion in the 100 breaststroke, a testament to his hard work and the college’s commitment to nurturing athletic talent. His experience at FSC was instrumental in his development as an athlete, preparing him to compete at the highest level for Italy in the Paris Olympics.

Kyle Micallef: Malta Swimming
Kyle Micallef found the perfect balance of academic and athletic excellence at ³Ô¹ÏÍø. During his time at FSC, Kyle thrived in a competitive yet supportive environment, which helped him grow both as a student and an athlete. In 2023, Kyle became the NCAA National Champion in the 50 freestyle, and he was also named an Academic All-American, highlighting his commitment to excellence in the pool and in the classroom. The foundation he built at FSC contributed to his journey to the Paris Olympics, where he represented Malta as one of their top swimmers.
